Plano Garage Door Pros
Garage door repair in Plano, TX, built around the 1973-2015 housing stock here, with coverage running out to Parker, Murphy, Fairview, and Lucas.
Our services
Most of the houses we get called to went up between 1973 and 2015, with the bulk of the stock dating to somewhere around 2001.
That's a wide range of hardware. Early-90s builds still carry original torsion springs and openers that have outlived their expected cycle count, while the 2000s-era homes across the 22 named areas in this service territory tend to run steel raised-panel doors on standard extension or torsion setups that are easier to source parts for.
We work on broken springs, cables off the drum, bent tracks, openers that grind but won't lift, and panels dented from a backed-into car. We don't do fence gates or commercial rolling doors - if that's what you need, we'll say so on the phone instead of taking the job anyway.
Heat is the main stress factor on doors here rather than deep freeze, so we see more nylon roller failure and opener capacitor burnout than the frozen-track calls you'd get further north. If your door is original to a 2001-built house, there's a decent chance the spring is original too, and we'll tell you straight whether it's worth replacing just the spring or the whole assembly.
Service area
We're based at 910 10th St in Plano and run jobs out from there. Hunters Glen is about a mile NNE and usually the quickest call of the day. Parker sits 7 miles out, Murphy about 8, Fairview and Lucas around 10, and St. Paul and Farmers Branch at 11. Further out we reach University Park and Lowry Crossing at 14 miles, Highland Park, New Hope, Oak Point, and Paloma Creek at 16, and Lake Dallas, Princeton, and Hickory Creek at 17. On the outer edge we cover Lavon, Shady Shores, Highland Village, and Cross Roads at 18 miles, and Melissa, Corinth, and Weston at 20. That's the working radius - if you're inside it, we can usually get someone out same day, and if you're right at the edge, say so when you call so we can plan the route.
What to expect
You call 14697963115 and tell us what the door is doing - won't open, opener runs but the door doesn't move, a spring that let go with a bang, whatever it is.
We ask for the door's approximate age and whether it's a single or double, because that tells us which spring and cable size to load on the truck before we ever see the driveway.
When we get there, we look at the whole system, not just the obvious break, because a snapped cable is sometimes a symptom of a spring that was already too weak for the door's weight. We give you a price before we touch anything, not after.
If the fix is a spring or cable swap, that's usually done the same visit. If the door needs a full replacement - which happens more often on the oldest homes in the 1973-1985 range where parts are harder to match - we'll say that plainly instead of patching something that won't hold.
Our team
Whoever comes to your house is someone who works garage doors daily, not a generalist handyman covering ten trades. They'll know the difference between a torsion and extension setup on sight and won't need to guess at spring wire size - they measure it. They carry common spring sizes and roller types for the door era that's actually common in this area, since the housing stock here clusters heavily around 2000s construction rather than being spread evenly across decades. They'll walk you through what failed and why before quoting the fix, and they won't sell you a new opener when the problem is a $20 sensor. If a part isn't on the truck - which happens on older or less common doors - they'll tell you the wait rather than substitute something that doesn't fit.
Questions
Yes. We run jobs out to Parker, Murphy, Fairview, Lucas, St. Paul, and Farmers Branch within about 11 miles, and further to places like Melissa, Corinth, and Weston around 20 miles. Call 14697963115 and tell us where you are so we can confirm timing.
Very common. A large share of the housing stock across this service area dates to the 2000s, so we carry the spring sizes, roller types, and opener parts that fit those builds as standard stock, which usually means a same-visit repair rather than a special order.
No. We work on residential garage doors - springs, cables, tracks, panels, and openers. If you need a commercial rolling door or a gate, that's outside what we take on, and we'll tell you that upfront rather than take the job and figure it out later.
We look at the door in person and quote before doing any work. Pricing depends on what's actually wrong - a spring swap costs differently than a full door replacement - so we don't quote blind over the phone beyond a rough range based on what you describe.
